Dreaming about a sunset
What does it mean to dream about the sun going down?
Both are reported as moments rather than as light, and sunset is described with more feeling than sunrise, which is worth setting down.
That asymmetry is consistent enough to be a finding. Dreamers report sunsets with melancholy or with a sense of significance, and report sunrises comparatively flatly.
This database has no settled explanation. What can be said is that the same asymmetry appears elsewhere: the tower reports find descent more frightening than ascent, and the leaves entry finds falling reported far more than growing.
Whether dreams favour the downward half of a cycle generally is an open question that a journal could actually address.
