Dreaming that you owe somebody money

What does it mean to dream about a debt?

A distinct group, and it behaves like the guilt material rather than the money material.

Dreamers describe knowing they owe something, frequently without knowing how much or to whom, and describe the obligation as complete regardless. The amount is almost never established.

That is the unearned certainty this database is built on: an arrest with no charge, a secret with no content, a task that has been forgotten with nothing attached to it. Here it arrives as a debt, and the feeling is proportionate to nothing because there is nothing for it to be proportionate to.

Where a real debt exists these track the waking worry closely, and that is the least mysterious reading available and usually the right one.

Where this reads well

Recognising the missing amount is usually what settles it, and dreamers can nearly always confirm it themselves.

Where it is harder

Obligation without a figure is harder to discharge than a real debt, because there is nothing that could be paid.

Worth asking yourself

How much did I owe? To whom? Did the dream ever say?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
