What does it mean to dream about grass that is too long?
Where grass becomes the subject rather than the ground, it is because it is too long.
Dreamers describe it as waist high, describe not being able to see the ground, and frequently describe something being in it.
That last detail connects these reports to the being-watched material more than to anything botanical. The grass is doing what fog, darkness and a dense forest do: providing a boundary the dream never has to generate past, with a certainty supplied that something is on the other side of it.
Nothing emerges, in the great majority of reports. There is nothing to emerge.
