Dreaming about a clock showing the wrong time
What does it mean when a clock in a dream keeps changing?
Almost certainly not a symbol. This is dreaming failing to hold a detail steady, and it is one of the most consistent findings in the practical lucid dreaming literature.
If this happens to you regularly, it is a personal dream sign of unusual quality. The reality-check guide explains how to train on it.
Where this reads well
A reliable route into lucidity for anyone practising, and one of only three checks this database rates highly: text, hands and a clock. All three fail for the same reason, and a clock has the advantage of being something people look at with a real reason rather than as a deliberate test.
Where it is harder
Disorientation, where the dreamer is trying to use the clock for something. That is the common case rather than the exception: clocks appear in being-late dreams, and a reader consulting one urgently is exactly the reader least able to stop and notice that it changed. The information arrives at the moment it cannot be used.
Worth asking yourself
Did I look twice? Did I notice anything was wrong at the time?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
