What does it mean to dream about an announcement you cannot catch?
Stations and airports dominate the settings, which the station entry covers, and the departure-board material applies directly.
Both fail the same way. The board is text that will not resolve; the tannoy is speech that will not resolve. A traveller in a dream has two sources of the information they need and neither can be produced.
That is why these dreams do not end in departure. The dream cannot supply the platform in either medium, so the journey cannot proceed.
Dreamers rarely report catching it, and rarely report asking anybody, which is the refusing finding again.
