Dreaming about ring
Almost every reported ring dream is a losing dream. The ring is noticed because it is gone, and dreamers report checking the hand, which is one of the more specific physical actions in the whole database.

A smaller group involves a ring that will not come off, or that is too tight, and those reports carry a distinct constriction that dreamers usually connect to the relationship rather than the object.
Broken rings appear rarely and are reported with more distress than loss, which is worth noting.

Continuity accounts for the distribution well: people who wear rings have these dreams, and the emotional weight tracks what the ring represents to them.
The post-waking hand check is one of the more reliable behavioural carryovers reported, and it is worth noting because dreams rarely produce actions after waking.

The ring as an unbroken circle, and therefore as continuity, is an old and widespread reading and is explicitly invoked in a number of marriage rites.
