Dreaming you are going faster than you intended
What does it mean to dream you cannot slow down?
The characteristic failure, and it is distinct from the brake failure the car entry covers: the problem is the speed increasing rather than the stopping not working.
That difference is worth recording. A brake that does nothing is the effort-without-effect family, where an intention returns nothing. Acceleration beyond intention is something else: the world doing more than was asked of it, which is rare.
