Moon

Dreaming about two moons

What does it mean to dream about more than one moon?

Reported more often than one might expect, and one of the clearest signals available that the dreamer is dreaming. Almost nothing else in a night sky is as unambiguously wrong.

Dreamers who notice it and realise are describing a textbook route into lucidity. Dreamers who notice and accept it are describing a textbook feature of ordinary dreaming: the suspension of critical judgement that makes dreams possible in the first place.

Where this reads well

An excellent dream sign if it recurs, and the sky is the best place in a dream to look for one: it is large, always present, and almost never right. Dreamers who make a habit of glancing up report finding far more than they expected, and this is the most unambiguous thing they find.

Where it is harder

Little, and the absence is itself the interesting part. Almost every other reliable dream sign arrives attached to a frustration, text that will not resolve, a light that will not work, a hand that is wrong. This one is simply an impossible sky, and dreamers report it as beautiful about as often as they report it as strange.

Worth asking yourself

Did I think it was strange at the time? What did I tell myself?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
