Dreaming about a ladder that does not reach
What does it mean to dream a ladder is too short?
The commonest problem, and the gap is described precisely.
The ladder reaches almost to where the dreamer needs to be. Dreamers report the distance specifically, which is unusual: measurement is not something dreams do reliably, and yet the shortfall is consistently reported as small and definite.
That belongs with the just-out-of-reach family: the fruit, the far bank, the receding summit. Something visible, close, and not attainable, which this database finds is a far more common structure than outright impossibility.
Very few reports involve a ladder that simply works.
