Dreaming about a candle that gives no light
What does it mean to dream a light does not illuminate anything?
A distinct and interesting version: the candle is lit and the room stays dark.
Dreams produce this readily because they are not modelling light at all. A lit flame and an illuminated room are two separate pieces of content, and nothing requires the first to produce the second.
The darkness entry describes the same failure at larger scale: a torch that does not reach, a switch that does nothing, a room that stays dark with the light on. Dreamers report insufficiency rather than blackness.
That makes light one of the better reality checks available, because the relationship between a source and a lit space is exactly the kind of agreement dreams cannot maintain.
Where this reads well
A strong dream sign, and it explains a detail dreamers usually find inexplicable.
Where it is harder
Being unable to light a space you are already uneasy about is efficient.
Worth asking yourself
Was it lit? Did anything get brighter? Did the switch work either?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
