Dreaming about brown
The least reported colour in dream content, and the entry exists to say so. Brown is everywhere in the world and almost never mentioned, which is the attention finding at its most extreme.

The near absence is the finding. Wood, earth, hair, skin, furniture and most animals are brown, and dream reports barely contain the word.
Where it is reported it is nearly always negative and nearly always about contamination: mud, dirty water, something spoiled.
That is a striking asymmetry. A colour that dominates the visual world is reported only when something has gone wrong with it.
Earth and soil are the exception and are reported neutrally, usually in the garden and grave material.

Positive readings
Nothing in the colour. The value is evidential: brown is the strongest single case for colour reporting tracking salience rather than presence, which the head entry argues.

The contamination reports belong with the disgust group and are mild.
Psychological perspectives
Colour is noticed when it is unexpected, informative or intense, and brown is none of those, so it goes unattended in dreams exactly as it does awake.
That completes the argument the blue and grass entries begin: common things are under-reported, and reports are made of what stood out.
A dreamer who wants to know what their dream contained should therefore be suspicious of anything they had to think about, which is what the head entry advises.
Cultural and historical
Brown carries very little across traditions, which is unusual and is probably for the same reason: it is not a colour anybody has needed to distinguish.
Monastic habits in several traditions are brown or undyed, where the point is the absence of colour rather than the colour.
