Dreaming about being unable to prevent an accident
What does it mean to dream you could not stop an accident happening?
Distinct from watching and from causing, and the emotion is helplessness rather than guilt. The dreamer sees it coming, moves to stop it, and is too slow, too far, or unable to move at all.
That last variant matters. Where the dreamer cannot move, the report belongs with the sleep-paralysis and being-unable-to-move material rather than with accidents, and it should be logged there instead.
Dreamers frequently report the interval before impact being longer in the dream than it could be, which is an ordinary feature of dreamed time rather than a detail with meaning.
Where this reads well
Uncommon. A few dreamers report succeeding, and describe the relief as disproportionate and lasting.
Where it is harder
Where somebody real is involved, dreamers often report checking on them after waking, which is a good outcome from a wrong premise.
Worth asking yourself
Could I move? Who was involved? Did I reach them?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
