This one needs an account
The polls elsewhere on the site do not. These do, for one reason: they are answered once and kept, so they have to belong to somebody rather than to a browser. It is free and takes about twenty seconds.

They are counted. Once fifty people have answered a question we publish the split at /research, always as a figure about the people who answered rather than about people in general. Anything you write in a description box is read by us and is never published without being read first. Deleting your account leaves the count intact and unlinks it from you.
