Dreaming about marrying the wrong person
What does it mean to dream about marrying somebody you would not marry?
The version that alarms dreamers most, and the one that most needs answering directly rather than carefully: it is not a statement about your relationship.
Dream characters are drawn from whoever the dreamer has encountered recently and often, weighted by exposure rather than by significance. A wedding is a ceremony that requires a second person, and the dream will supply one from whatever is available. The choice is not a judgement.
What dreamers consistently report is that the wrongness was known rather than felt: they were aware it was the wrong person and proceeded anyway, which is the same structure as the rest of this entry. The ceremony continues regardless of anybody's objection, including the dreamer's.
Where this reads well
Understanding the exposure mechanism removes the worry entirely, and dreamers are usually relieved to be told it is common.
Where it is harder
Treated as intuition, this one damages real relationships. It carries no information about the partner, the alternative, or the dreamer.
Worth asking yourself
Did I know it was wrong at the time? Had I seen or spoken to that person recently? Did anybody in the dream object?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
