Stations and airports are waiting dreams, and the waiting does not end. What dreamers report is the departure board: the platform that changes, the time that will not resolve, the destination that is not listed.

Where somebody travels a great deal, these dreams track it, which is ordinary continuity.
Psychological perspectives
A station is an almost perfect anxiety-dream setting: it contains a deadline, a piece of text that must be read correctly, a large space to cross, and objects that must not be lost. Dreams reach for it because everything it needs is already there.
The board failing is text instability, which is well documented and is why the check works.
