Somebody who knows you

Dreaming somebody knows you and you do not know them

What does it mean to dream you cannot admit you do not know somebody?

The characteristic report is bluffing. The dreamer is greeted by name, does not know the person, and continues the conversation rather than saying so.

The social awkwardness of not being able to admit it is the reported content, which is a very specific thing for a dream to produce.

That is unusually socially sophisticated, and dreamers frequently remark on it: the reduced evaluation that lets a house be the wrong shape apparently does not stop them managing an awkward moment.

Which is a genuine puzzle for the standard account. If critical faculties are offline, why is social face-saving intact? This database cannot answer that and it is worth flagging rather than smoothing over.

Where this reads well

A real anomaly in the reduced-evaluation account, and one dreamers recognise immediately.

Where it is harder

The awkwardness is reported as exhausting, and dreamers describe working hard throughout.

Worth asking yourself

Did I admit it? How hard did I work at hiding it? Did they notice?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
