What does it mean to dream about looking for an exit?
Distinct from being trapped, and the distinction matters: nothing is holding the dreamer, and the exit simply cannot be located.
This is the search structure applied to architecture, and it inherits the same non-resolution. Doors lead to rooms, corridors connect to corridors, and the building supplies more of itself indefinitely. Dreams generate space on demand, which means a building can always produce another room and rarely produces an outside.
Reports converge with the endless-corridor and hotel material, and dreamers who have all three usually experience them as one dream.

Some dreamers report getting out, and describe the outside air specifically, which is a striking detail given how little dreams usually supply.
Where it is harder
The tirelessness rather than fear is what dreamers report, and it frequently leaves them waking unrested.
