Dreaming about a pier with no end
What does it mean to dream a structure continues further than it should?

The pier continues past any reasonable length. Dreamers describe walking and not arriving, with water on both sides and no visible end.
That is the endless corridor, the station with no edge and the library that outgrows its building, transposed. Space is produced where attention goes, and a dreamer who keeps walking keeps being given somewhere to walk.
The sea makes it starker than the indoor versions, because there is nothing on either side to distract from the fact that it is still going.
