Dreaming about a lighthouse beam
What does it mean to dream about a lighthouse?
Dreamers describe the dark between passes more than the light itself.
The rhythm is the content: the sweep, the gap, and the anticipation of the next pass. It is one of the few reliably repeating motions in dream reports, which puts it with the moth circling a lamp on a very short list.
Repetition is expensive for a dream. It requires the same thing to be produced again, and this database finds almost nothing that manages it: the spreading crack and the unravelling thread extend rather than repeat.
So a beam that comes round again is genuinely unusual, and the fact that dreamers attend to the interval rather than the light makes it more so.
Where this reads well
A rare instance of true repetition, and worth recording carefully for that reason.
Where it is harder
Anticipation in the dark is efficient, and dreamers report these as tense.
Worth asking yourself
Did it actually come round again? Was I waiting for it? What was in the gap?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
