Dreaming about a reflection in water
What does it mean to dream a reflection is not right?
Reflection is the second theme, and it puts a share of these reports next to the mirror material.
A reflection that is wrong, or that shows something not present, is reported and is unsettling in the same way.
The mechanism is the mirror entry's: a reflection has to agree with the thing reflected, and nothing in a dream is tracking either. It is the same consistency failure as the shadow that points the wrong way, and it fails for exactly the same reason.
Water is a better check than a mirror, oddly, because nobody expects a lake to be precise, so a dreamer who notices a wrong reflection in one has noticed something genuinely fine-grained.
