Graveyard

Dreaming about walking through a graveyard

Why was the graveyard in my dream not frightening?

Calm is the dominant report, which surprises almost everybody who arrives here.

Dreamers describe walking, reading stones, and an atmosphere they usually call peaceful. Very little happens and they rarely want to leave.

The frightening version supplied by fiction, with the graveyard as a horror setting, is reported far less than expected, and dreamers who get it frequently mention a film unprompted.

That gap between what people expect to dream and what they report is the useful thing here. It is worth knowing before you interpret a graveyard dream as being about death or dread, because the reports mostly are not.

Where this reads well

Genuinely restful, and under-recorded because a calm graveyard dream does not feel like something to write down.

Where it is harder

None in the ordinary version.

Worth asking yourself

Was I frightened at all? What was I doing? Have I seen a film with this in it?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
