What does it mean to dream about a departure?
A second and more ordinary group, involving living people, usually at a station or an airport, and it belongs with the travel material.
The station entry carries most of it: the board that will not resolve, the platform that cannot be found, the departure that will not wait.
What the farewell adds is that somebody is going rather than the dreamer. Dreamers report watching rather than travelling, which is a different position and produces the being-left rather than the being-late structure.
Where a real departure is coming, these cluster before it and can usually be dated to the week.
