Dreaming about dancing with no music
Why was there no music in my dream?
Music is reported inconsistently. Some dreamers describe it clearly and others report dancing to nothing, and only notice on waking.
That noticing-afterwards is the finding. Sound is generated sparingly in dreams, so its absence goes unremarked until the report is reconstructed.
The silence entry describes exactly this: ordinary quiet goes unnoticed, and it only becomes content when something visible contradicts it. Dancing is a rare case where the contradiction is present and still passes.
Where music is reported clearly, that is worth getting down, because it puts the dream in the small group with reliable auditory content.
