Dreaming about a house full of cats
What does it mean to dream there are more cats than there should be?
A specific and frequently reported version, and the count is the thing to look at rather than the cats.
Dreamers describe more appearing, a number that will not settle, or a room that contains more than it did a moment ago. Quantity is one of the properties dreaming renders worst, alongside text, numbers, clocks and reflections. Nothing is stored, so nothing has to agree with itself between one look and the next.
That puts these with the extra-rooms material more than with the animal material: the house has more in it than it should, and the dreamer keeps finding more.
Where the dreamer feels responsible for them, the reports shift towards the overload family, which the lost-keys and forgotten-baby entries describe. Dreamers currently stretched thin report a version of this in one form or another.
