What does it mean to dream about a camel?
A camel arrives with a landscape attached, and dreamers report the desert around it more than the animal.
That makes this one of the clearest cases in the file of an image bringing its whole context with it, and the desert entry carries most of the material: featurelessness, no way to judge distance, and walking that produces no evidence of having moved.
Very few animals do this. A fox does not bring a street, a bear does not bring a forest. The camel does, reliably, and it is worth setting down the setting rather than the creature.
For dreamers in regions where camels are ordinary the reports are unremarkable and practical, which is the usual continuity split and a useful control.
