Being early

Dreaming about waiting for an event to begin

What does it mean to dream nothing ever starts?

The second theme, and it does not resolve: dreamers report the event never starting.

So the early dream is an unresolving dream too, which is the argument this record exists to make. Being late fails by arriving after; being early fails by the thing never arriving at all.

The waiting entry describes the general case, and it is the most common unresolved structure in this database: duration without progress, and the awaited thing does not come.

Dreams sustain the state before an event far better than they produce the event. Whichever side of the deadline you land on, the event is what is missing.

Where this reads well

The clearest single argument that non-arrival is structural rather than about anxiety.

Where it is harder

Waiting is tiring and these are reported as long.

Worth asking yourself

Did it ever start? How long did I wait? Was anybody else there?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
