Dreaming about being caught doing something wrong
What does it mean to dream about being caught doing something you did?
Less common than being accused of nothing in particular, and it behaves differently: the dreamer knows what they did, and the dream is about the discovery rather than the act.
What is consistently reported is that the offence is usually trivial and the consequence is not. Dreamers describe being caught over something small and facing something enormous, and describe the mismatch as the memorable part.
That disproportion is the content. It is the same machinery the forgotten-baby dream uses, reaching for the largest available consequence rather than a fitting one.
Where this reads well
The disproportion becomes almost funny in retelling, and dreamers often describe it that way.
Where it is harder
Where the dreamer has real guilt about something, the dream will use it, and that is worth noticing rather than interpreting.
Worth asking yourself
What had I done? Was the punishment proportionate? Did anybody find out in the dream?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
